Yiyang Cao
is a Brooklyn-based new media artist born and raised in Hangzhou, China. She received her BFA in Film/Animation/Video at RISD, and MA in Interactive Media Arts at NYU Tisch. Through media installations and live audiovisual performances, Yiyang’s work investigates the posthuman body, virtual existence, and immortality. She utilizes a wide range of technologies in her work including analog video synthesis, computer-based generative visuals, 3D animation, creative coding, and projection mapping. She has exhibited across the world including US, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands and Denmark, and has performed at CTM Festival, Unsound Festival, ISSUE Project Room (New York), Knockdown Center (New York), Interzone Festival, and many underground shows in New York.
